Dual Action. Double Impact. Complete Confidence.
Anti-Infective
Poultry & Swine
WS Powder

Composition

Each g contains:
Sulphadiazine. 400 mg
Trimethoprim. 80 mg
Excipients. q.s.

Indications

Poultry :
Infectious coryza, white diarrhoea, enteritis, colisepticaemia, early chick mortality and to prevent secondary bacterial infections

Calves, Sheep and Goats :
Bacterial scours, acute undifferentiated diarrhoea, joint ill and pneumonia

Mechanism of Action

SULFTRIM 480 utilizes a highly effective sequential blockade mechanism to achieve powerful bactericidal synergy. Sulphadiazine acts as a competitive inhibitor of PABA, disrupting the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid (Stage 1). Trimethoprim then blocks the subsequent enzyme, dihydrofolate reductase, preventing the production of tetrahydrofolic acid (Stage 2). Since both steps are essential for bacterial DNA and RNA synthesis, this dual blockade kills the bacteria more efficiently than either agent alone, preventing resistance and ensuring broad-spectrum activity.

Benefits

Potent bactericidal action due to synergistic combination.
Wide-spectrum coverage against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Effective against pathogens resistant to individual antibiotics.
Highly effective concentration (480 mg/g).
Excellent water solubility for reliable flock treatment.

Usage & Recommendation

Poultry: 1-2 g per 5 liters of drinking water continuously for 5-7 days.
Calves, Sheep and Goats: 1 g per 15 kg body weight for 5-7 days in divided dosage through feed or water as drench

Note: The treatment duration depends on the clinical response and the sensitivity of the isolated organisms.
