Mechanism of Action

Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic. It acts by binding reversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, thus inhibiting microbial protein synthesis. This mechanism prevents the attachment of aminoacyl tRNA to the acceptor site on the ribosome, effectively halting bacterial growth and multiplication. It demonstrates strong efficacy against a diverse range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, as well as Mycoplasma and Rickettsia species.

Rapidly absorbed and well-distributed in tissues.
Broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity.
High solubility for easy administration.
