Oxytetracycline Hcl. 50 mg
Excipients. q.s.

Indications

Treatment of bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever) and respiratory tract infections.
Management of mastitis and metritis in cattle and buffaloes.
Treatment of systemic infections like anaplasmosis and anthrax.
Effective against infections causing foot rot and calf diphtheria.
Control of surgical wound infections and traumatic injuries.

Mechanism of Action

Oxytetracycline is a bacteriostatic agent that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It reversibly binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, blocking the attachment of transfer RNA (tRNA) to the aminoacyl acceptance site on the messenger RNA (mRNA)-ribosome complex. This action prevents the elongation of the peptide chain, effectively halting the production of essential bacterial proteins. This inhibition prevents bacterial growth and multiplication, allowing the host's immune system to clear the infection.

Benefits

Broad-spectrum efficacy against a wide range of pathogens.
Effective treatment for both respiratory and reproductive infections.
Good tissue penetration to reach the site of infection.
Cost-effective antibiotic solution for farm use.
Fast-acting solution administered via injection.
