Injection

Composition

Each ml contains:
Oxytetracycline dihydrate. 300 mg
Excipients. q.s.

Indications

Single-dose treatment for severe Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD).
Management of large-scale outbreaks of mastitis, metritis, and pneumonia.
Control of deep-seated infections like foot rot, actinomycosis, and joint ill.
Effective against septicemia and post-operative surgical infections.
Essential for mass medication during transportation or high-risk periods.

Mechanism of Action

Oxytetracycline exerts its bacteriostatic effect by disrupting crucial bacterial protein synthesis. It achieves this by selectively and reversibly binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. This binding prevents the attachment of aminoacyl transfer RNA (tRNA) to the acceptor site, effectively halting the elongation of the peptide chain. The inhibition of protein synthesis blocks bacterial growth and multiplication. Due to the 30% LA formulation, the drug is released slowly, guaranteeing sustained therapeutic drug levels for the maximum possible duration, ensuring deep and lasting antimicrobial coverage.

Benefits

Highest concentration (30%) reduces injection volume substantially.
Extended therapeutic duration of 5-6 days, minimizing intervention frequency.
Superior efficacy against sensitive, hard-to-reach systemic pathogens.
Reduces stress on animals by requiring fewer handling sessions.
Cost-effective high-power treatment for large, valuable animals.
