Composition

Each ml contains:
Oxytetracycline dihydrate. 100 mg
Excipients. q.s.

Indications

Treatment of severe bacterial pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections.
Management of acute and chronic mastitis and puerperal metritis.
Control of systemic diseases like anaplasmosis, leptospirosis, and anthrax.
Treating infections associated with foot rot and calf scours.
Prophylaxis for surgical site infections and post-traumatic injuries.

Mechanism of Action

Oxytetracycline exerts a bacteriostatic effect by interfering with essential bacterial protein synthesis. It achieves this by reversibly binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. This binding action physically obstructs the attachment of aminoacyl transfer RNA (tRNA) to the acceptor site, effectively preventing the addition of new amino acids to the growing peptide chain. This cessation of protein production inhibits the growth and multiplication of the bacteria, allowing the animal's natural defenses to resolve the underlying infection.

Benefits

Concentrated 10% formula requires smaller injection volumes.
Broad efficacy against numerous bacterial and rickettsial pathogens.
Effective therapeutic levels reached rapidly in systemic circulation.
Reduces clinical signs of major bacterial infections quickly.
Economical solution for treating large animals.
