Each ml contains:
Ofloxacin. 0.3% w/v
Clotrimazole. 1.0% w/v
Betamethasone Dipropionate. 0.025% w/v
Lignocaine hydrochloride. 2% w/v

Treatment of acute and chronic otitis externa of mixed bacterial and fungal etiology.

POMISOL uses four simultaneous actions. Ofloxacin is bactericidal, inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Clotrimazole disrupts the synthesis of the fungal cell membrane. Betamethasone rapidly suppresses the inflammatory response by reducing the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Finally, Lignocaine blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in sensory neurons, preventing nerve signal conduction. This provides immediate, localized pain relief, which is critical for compliance, while the other agents clear the infection and reduce swelling.
