MELONEX

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID)
Fast Action for a Faster Recovery
NSAID
Livestock
Injection

Composition

Each ml contains:
Meloxicam. 5 mg
Excipients. q.s.

Indications

Relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders (lameness).
Reduction of pain and discomfort during acute mastitis in cattle.
Supportive therapy for BRD (Bovine Respiratory Disease), reducing fever and distress.
Management of pain following surgery and traumatic injuries.
Used to alleviate pain and swelling associated with foot rot.

Mechanism of Action

Meloxicam exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are key mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever. It selectively inhibits the enzyme Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) more strongly than Cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1). COX-2 is primarily responsible for producing prostaglandins at inflammatory sites. By reducing prostaglandin levels, Meloxicam rapidly decreases localized swelling, redness, and pain sensitivity. The selective action helps reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs.

Benefits

Rapid and effective relief of pain, inflammation, and pyrexia (fever).
Improved animal welfare and faster return to productivity.
Selective COX-2 inhibition offers better gastrointestinal safety profile.
Easy single-dose administration often provides prolonged relief.
Enhances recovery when used alongside antibiotic therapy.
