Meloxicam provides its therapeutic benefits by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are key chemical mediators of the inflammatory cascade. It works through the selective inhibition of the enzyme Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). COX-2 is induced at sites of injury and is responsible for pain, heat, and swelling. By blocking COX-2, Meloxicam effectively reduces localized inflammatory signs and pyrexia. Its preference for COX-2 over the constitutive COX-1 enzyme helps minimize potential adverse effects on the gastrointestinal lining.
Concentrated dose (20 mg/ml) requires a significantly smaller injection volume.
Rapid reduction of pain and fever, improving animal comfort and welfare.
Selective COX-2 action provides a better safety profile.
Sustained relief often achieved with a single administration.
Enhances patient recovery and mobility during critical illness.
