Management of inflammation and pain associated with chronic osteoarthritis.
Relief of acute pain and inflammation post-orthopedic or soft-tissue surgery.

Reduction of pain and discomfort due to trauma.

Meloxicam is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) that primarily acts by preferentially inhibiting the enzyme Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). COX 2 is primarily responsible for producing pro-inflammatory prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. By blocking COX-2 , Meloxicam effectively reduces the synthesis of these inflammatory mediators, providing potent analgesic (pain-relieving), anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic (fever-reducing) effects. Its preferential selectivity helps reduce common NSAID side effects, particularly gastrointestinal irritation, compared to non-selective inhibitors.

Initial Dose (Day 1): 0.2 mg/Kg body weight, once daily.
Maintenance Dose (Subsequent Days): 0.1 mg/Kg body weight, once daily till desired resulted are observed.
Method: Administer orally, either with food or directly into the mouth.
Duration: Treatment length is determined by the veterinary physician based on the patient's response and condition severity.
