GRIPTOL-N SUSP

Each 5 ml contains:
Levofloxacin. 100 mg
Omidazole 200 mg

Treatment of severe, mixed gastrointestinal infections (Enteritis, Colitis).
Management of infections complicated by anaerobic bacteria or resistant aerobes.
Therapy for protozoal infections like Giardiasis and Amoebiasis.
Treatment of chronic or recurrent diarrhea of suspected microbial or parasitic origin.
Used for systemic infections where wide-spectrum coverage is essential.

The synergy targets diverse pathogens. Levofloxacin is bactericidal, inhibiting bacterial DNA replication by blocking DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase IV. This rapid mechanism is effective against aerobic bacteria. Ornidazole (a nitroimidazole) acts against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa (like Giardia). It enters the cell and is reduced to cytotoxic, short-lived free radicals that damage the parasite/bacteria's DNA and other essential macromolecules, leading to cell death. This dual action ensures high efficacy against complicated mixed infections.

Dogs
1 ml/ 4 Kg b.wt BID for 3-5 days
Administer orally using a measuring device. Shake well before use.
