Ivermectin is a macrocyclic lactone that exerts its antiparasitic effect by selectively binding with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels found in the nerve and muscle cells of invertebrates. This binding results in an increased permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, causing hyperpolarization of the nerve or muscle cell. This continuous inhibitory signal leads to flaccid paralysis and eventual death of the parasite. This neurotoxicity is highly selective for invertebrates, conferring a wide margin of safety in mammals, except for specific susceptible breeds.
Broad-spectrum endectocide provides both internal and external parasite control.
Effective at low doses for long-term heartworm prevention.
Single tablet form is convenient for accurate oral dosing.
Highly effective against scabiei mites causing severe mange.
Aids in resolving chronic skin issues linked to parasitic mites.
