NEOMEC TABLET

Each Tablet contains:
Ivermectin. 10 mg
Excipients. Q.S.

Treatment and control of various Gastrointestinal Nematodes (Roundworms).
Management of Ectoparasitic infestations, including various mites (e.g., Sarcoptic Mange).
Used for the control of certain Lice and Ear Mites.
Prevention of Heartworm Disease (Dirofilaria immitis) at microfilaricidal doses.
Treatment of subcutaneous and dermal worms.

Ivermectin is a macrocyclic lactone that exerts its antiparasitic effect by selectively binding with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels found in the nerve and muscle cells of invertebrates. This binding results in an increased permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, causing hyperpolarization of the nerve or muscle cell. This continuous inhibitory signal leads to flaccid paralysis and eventual death of the parasite. This neurotoxicity is highly selective for invertebrates, conferring a wide margin of safety in mammals, except for specific susceptible breeds.
