INTALYTE NS is an isotonic crystalloid solution. When administered intravenously, it expands the extracellular fluid (ECF) compartment, rapidly increasing circulating blood volume. As it is isotonic, it minimizes the shift of fluid between the intracellular and extracellular spaces, making it highly effective for volume resuscitation and managing shock. It also provides chloride ions, which are vital for maintaining acid-base balance and correcting deficits associated with excessive vomiting or specific disease states.
