Dextrose Anhydrous: 11.15 g
Sodium Chloride: 2.15 g
Potassium Di-hydrogen Phosphate: 1.02 gGlycine: 1.55 g
Citric Acid: 0.12 g
Potassium Citrate: 0.03 g
Vit. C: 60 mg

Indications

Treatment and stabilization of Hypovolemic Shock (e.g., from hemorrhage or severe dehydration).
Maintaining or restoring effective circulating blood volume during surgery.
Management of patients with low blood protein (hypoproteinemia) requiring plasma volume support.
Used for emergency cardiovascular support in critical care.

Mechanism of Action

PLASMUP PET is a colloidal solution utilizing Hydroxyethyl Starch (HES) as its primary osmotic agent. HES are high molecular weight molecules that remain in the intravascular space. This presence creates a high oncotic pressure, drawing extracellular fluid into the bloodstream. This rapid volume expansion increases circulating blood volume, mean arterial pressure, and cardiac output. The added 0.9% Sodium Chloride maintains the isotonicity required for safe intravenous administration and electrolyte balance.

Benefits

Sustained volume expansion due to the long intravascular half-life of .
Achieves rapid hemodynamic stabilization in acute shock situations.
HES molecules are generally well-tolerated and gradually metabolized.
Isotonic formulation ensures safety and minimal electrolyte disturbance.
Crucial for maintaining effective blood pressure during anesthesia.

Usage & Recommendation

Dosage is determined by the veterinarian based on the patient's condition and hemodynamic status, administered strictly intravenously.
Typical Dose: Up to 20 ml/kg body weight in dogs, or 10 ml/kg in cats, infused over 30-60 minutes.
Shock Management: Often given as rapid boluses of 5-10 ml/Kg until stabilization.
Maximum Daily Dose: Should not exceed 20 ml/Kg body weight.

Presentation

250 ml sterile, non-pyrogenic single dose polyethylene container.
