SANIPOND's active ingredient, DDAC (a quaternary ammonium compound), works by disrupting the cellular structure of pathogens. DDAC molecules are positively charged and bind strongly to the negatively charged cell membranes of bacteria, fungi, and molds. This binding alters the cell permeability, leading to leakage of essential intracellular components and subsequent cell lysis and death. This action is rapid and provides long-lasting antimicrobial residual activity in the water column and on surfaces, effectively controlling microbial load.
