Rapid-Acting Glucocorticoid (Corticosteroid)
The Crisis Manager for Livestock
Corticosteroid
Livestock
Injection

Composition

Each ml contains:
Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate B.P (Vet) 4.4 mg;
Equivalent to Dexamethasone Phosphate 4 mg equivalent to Dexamethasone 3.34 mg
Excipients. q.s.

Indications

Treatment of shock and acute circulatory collapse.
Management of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, hives).
Used in acute inflammatory states like arthritis, laminitis, and trauma.
Adjunctive therapy for ketosis and other metabolic disorders (gluconeogenic effect).
Induction of parturition in cattle (under strict veterinary control).

Mechanism of Action

Dexamethasone is a potent synthetic glucocorticoid that rapidly penetrates cell membranes and binds to specific intracellular receptors. This complex then enters the nucleus and modulates gene expression. Its primary action is anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the release of key inflammatory mediators, stabilizing cell membranes, and suppressing the migration of leukocytes. It also has a strong immunosuppressive effect and promotes gluconeogenesis (glucose formation) to combat hypoglycemia associated with acute metabolic stress and shock.

Benefits

Rapid onset of action due to the water-soluble phosphate salt.
Powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic capabilities.
Reduces capillary permeability and swelling in acute conditions.
Provides metabolic support by elevating blood glucose levels.
Highly effective in managing stress-related and acute systemic crises.

Usage & Recommendation

Cattle/Buffaloes (Adult): 0.05 - 0.2 mg/kg body weight (Dexamethasone)
Intramuscular (I.M.), I.V. or S.C.
