Closantel is a salicylanilide anthelmintic that disrupts the energy metabolism of susceptible parasites. It achieves this by acting as an uncoupler of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation within the parasitic cells. This action blocks the production of essential Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), leading to rapid energy depletion. Since Closantel strongly targets blood-sucking nematodes and trematodes, the lack of ATP causes immediate paralysis, starvation, and subsequent death of the parasite.

Liver Fluke (Fasciola spp.) : Dosage rate: 5 mg / Kg body Weight. Administer 1 bolus per 200 Kg body weight.
Blood-Sucking Worms (Haemonchus spp.) & Ectoparasites: Dosage rate: 10 mg / Kg body Weight. Administer 1 bolus per 100 Kg body weight.
Administration: The bolus should be administered orally.
