PRAGMA

Prostaglandin F2 alpha (PGF 2 alpha) Analog
The Essential Tool for Herd Management.
Hormone
Livestock
Injection

Composition

Each ml contains:
Cloprostenol.250 mcg
Excipients .Q.S

Indications

Synchronization of estrus (heat) in cycling cattle and horses.
Termination of unwanted pregnancy (abortion) in livestock.
Treatment of retained Corpus Luteum and persistent CL.
Used for the management of mummified or macerated fetuses.
Initiation of parturition (calving) in specific, required circumstances.

Mechanism of Action

Cloprostenol acts as a potent luteolytic agent. It binds to specific receptors on the cells of the Corpus Luteum (CL), the structure responsible for progesterone production after ovulation. This binding initiates the rapid, irreversible regression of the CL (luteolysis). The subsequent precipitous drop in circulating progesterone removes the hormonal block on the hypothalamus, allowing FSH and LH release, which leads to follicular maturation, estrus onset, and ovulation within 2-5 days.

Benefits

Highly effective luteolytic activity ensures predictable synchronization results.
Reduces the need for heat detection through timed programs.
Allows group breeding and minimizes the calving interval.
Therapeutic value in treating specific reproductive pathologies ( persistence).
Easy intramuscular injection for field use.

Usage & Recommendation

Cattle (Estrus Sync): 500 mcg per animal (2 ml).
Administered via intramuscular () injection.
Sows (Farrowing Induction)
Specific, lower dosages are used to induce farrowing near term.
Must be administered by a trained professional following strict protocols.
