Each 5 gm prefilled syringe contains:
Cephalexin. 100mg
Neomycin sulphate 100 mg
Prednisolone. 10 mg

Treatment of clinical and sub-clinical bovine mastitis during lactation.
Effective against mastitis involving both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.
Recommended when severe inflammation and pain are present.
Used to reduce fever, swelling, and redness associated with acute mastitis.
Management of sensitive infections where dual-antibiotic coverage is required.

The antibacterial action is twofold: Cephalexin is bactericidal, inhibiting cell wall synthesis by blocking bacterial transpeptidases (PBPs). Neomycin is also bactericidal, targeting the bacterial ribosomal subunit to disrupt protein synthesis. This combination provides an extended spectrum. Prednisolone acts to stabilize lysosomal membranes and inhibit phospholipase A2 , thereby suppressing the inflammatory cascade and quickly reducing udder swelling and pain.

Dual antibiotics provide a broader spectrum of action than single agents.

Treatment: Infuse the contents of one (5 g) syringe into the affected quarter.
After milking, clean the teat end thoroughly before infusion.
Frequency: Administer every 12-24 hours for 3-5 doses, or as directed.
Gently massage the teat and udder to aid dispersion of the antibiotic.
