Treatment of clinical and sub-clinical bovine mastitis during lactation.
Effective against mastitis caused by sensitive Gram-positive bacteria (e.g., Staphylococcus, Streptococcus).
Effective against mastitis caused by sensitive Gram-negative bacteria (e.g., E. coli).
Used in local antibiotic therapy to reduce somatic cell counts.
Management of udder swelling and abnormal milk due to bacterial infection.
Cefuroxime is a bactericidal agent belonging to the -lactam class. Its core mechanism involves inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It does this by binding to and inactivating bacterial transpeptidases (known as Penicillin-Binding Proteins or PBPs ). By blocking the crucial cross-linking stage of peptidoglycans, it prevents the formation of a rigid cell wall structure. This defect leads to a compromised cell wall, followed by osmotic lysis and the rapid death of the mastitis-causing bacteria.
Second-generation cephalosporin offers strong, reliable activity against key mastitis pathogens.
Direct intra-mammary infusion achieves therapeutic drug levels locally.
Bactericidal action ensures rapid killing of susceptible bacteria.
Prefilled syringe allows for hygienic, quick, and accurate administration.
Supports quick recovery of the affected mammary gland function.
Treatment: Infuse the contents of one (3.5 g) syringe into the affected quarter.
After milking, clean the teat end thoroughly before infusion.
Frequency: Administer every 12-24 hours for 2-3 days of consecutive doses, or as directed.
Gently massage the teat and udder to aid dispersion of the antibiotic.
