Oral Liquid

Composition

Each ml contains:
Albendazole………….25 mg (2.5%)
Excipients……………..q.s

Indications

Treatment and control of major Gastrointestinal (GI) Nematodes (Roundworms).
Effective against Lungworms (Dictyocaulus) in cattle and sheep.
Management of certain species of Tapeworms (Cestodes).
Used in the control of Liver Flukes (Fasciola Hepatica) at higher dosages.
Reduction of helminth egg shedding to minimize pasture contamination.

Mechanism of Action

Albendazole, a benzimidazole, primarily works by selectively binding to -tubulin in the parasite's intestinal cells. This binding disrupts the polymerization of tubulin, thereby preventing the formation of essential microtubules within the parasite. The disruption of microtubules leads to the impairment of vital cellular processes, including glucose uptake, energy metabolism, and cellular transport. This lack of energy ultimately starves and paralyzes the parasite, which is then expelled from the host's gastrointestinal tract.

Benefits

Broad-spectrum efficacy against internal parasites including worms and flukes.
Effective ovicidal action reduces environmental contamination.
Simple oral liquid formulation allows for easy mass treatment (drenching).
High safety margin when used at recommended dosages.
Improves production parameters by eliminating nutrient competition.
