ZOOLAC PROPASTE exerts its effect via the direct application of bacterial metabolites (postbiotics). These bio-active compounds, including short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and cell wall fractions, directly influence gut health without requiring the live colonization of bacteria. SCFAs are the primary energy source for colonocytes (gut lining cells), promoting the integrity of the intestinal barrier and reducing permeability ("leaky gut"). The postbiotics also modulate the local immune system in the GIT and help inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria by creating an unfavorable acidic environment.
